Home FAQ General GUILD RULES

Objectives:
1.To progress through endgame content at a steady pace while maintaining a fun atmosphere for our members.
2. To encourage guild members to contribute to raids and the upkeep of other aspects of the guild aside from endgame, which include pvp and events.
3. To develop friendships with each member because behind every toon there's a real person.
4. To remind others that this is still a game and as such should never cause arguments or disagreements and should always be fun.
5. To progress as a guild through all this game has to offer.

CODE OF CONDUCT:

At all times:
1. You are expected to perform in a certain job in runs. Know your role.
2. If you start a run finish it. If a run breaks apart, discuss calling it with other members. Abandoning a run without good reason will lead to disciplinary action.
3.
All content is open to PUG except for 10 man ICE CROWN CITADEL. This raid is reserved for our class cheiftains. Raiding PRE WOTLK content is fine, so Molten core, onyxia, Karazhan, SSC etc is okay.

Within the Guild:
1. As a member of Red Branch please respect our younger members by curbing our language in guild chat. PG 13 only.
2. Guild members are expected to socialize with other guild members in a respectful manner. Treat them as you would like to be treated. The use of Racist remarks, excessive caps, spamming, and bullying are frowned upon and will cause disciplinary action.
3. Guild members are also expected to be active and somewhat talkative (it will only help you to make some new friends).
4. Officers and class leaders must be obeyed at ALL times. Neither will tell you anything without good reason.
5. Never argue with ANYONE in guild chat. have a problem with someone, invite them to a group and use party chat, if that doesn't work whisper the offender. If that doesn't work stop the arguing and get an officer involved.
6. Do not argue with a Guild Officer or Class Leader. This will only serve to get them upset. If you have a problem with an Officer or Class Leader, go to another Officer or Guildmaster.
7. Cannot find a middle ground with someone and need help to resolve the issue? Contact an officer or the GM.
8. Active participation in the guild forums. Much of what goes on within our guild is discussed in the forums here. If you don't read it you will be left out of much of what goes on within our guild.

Outside the Guild/Public Appearance

1. Guild members are expected to maintain the same level of respect they show to their fellow guildies when dealing
with other players. If you are antagonized by another player: Horde? Walk away and make full use of the /ignore and feel free to report the incident to an officer. Alliance? Kill Them, but do not start or participate in a yelling match. Your demeanor reflects on the guild when you talk to others....Give them the impression we have earned, and deserve. I frown heavily of stupid comments in trade chat and you will be chastised for being a moron there, remember, your actions as a member of The Red Branch reflect on us all. We've worked long and hard to earn us the reputation that we currently have and all it takes is one idiot to spoil it. Don't be like all the other morons in Trade Chat, If you have to comment, be witty and outsmart the idiots there, its not hard to do so. Dont just be another foul mouthed punk.
2. Again any use of racism, bullying, etc. are forbidden. Any "ninja"ing will result in immediate expulsion.
3. It is common practice for other guilds to report misbehavior of a guildy to officers and/or the guild master. Such reports will be looked into and reprimanded where appropriate. Repeated instances of any of these events will result in your being removed from the guild.

4. Please keep in mind that when out and about you are a member of this guild and your behavior reflects upon all of us. This guild has earned a reputation of being friendly and helpful and all it takes are a few idiots to spoil that for us. I will not have the reputation that we have worked so hard to build be ruined by someones idiotic or immature actions. First complaint gets a warning (assuming it is a substantiated gripe) second gets you booted.

Guild Loot Rules:

PUGS, (Non-guild runs):
Loot rules should be established at the beginning of the run. All players involved should agree on the rules. If someone comes late into the party, the rules should be explained to them, giving them the opportunity to disagree and leave or agree and stay.

GUILD RUNS:
PASS on ALL BOP (bind on pickup) items, greed/need roll on all BOE (bind on equip). When everyone has passed a BOP it will be discussed and if someone NEEDS it – meaning it’s an upgrade for them – they get it or will roll against others that NEED it. If no one needs then everyone should roll a greed roll. After a lot of discussion within our members it has been decided that we go back to basics. Everything will now be rolled for regardless of class.

Mains Vs. Alts:

Mains will ALWAYS have first dibs on loot. There are some exceptions to that rule, such as a main brought in to help down a particular boss will not have rights over alts, simply because that alt helped the raid/party get to that boss and should have the same rights as any main brought in to help . Its should always be a common sense thing decided upon by the raid/instance leader.

We invited your main to join us at the Red Branch. Your alts are welcome here also. However that being said, if you remove your main there is a very good chance (99%) that your alts will be removed from the guild. We invited your main, your alts are along for the ride.

You can change mains every 3 months. Contact our GM StankyManky to facilitate this process. However that being said, if you declare a new main and then a short period later you pull your old main and we dont see much of you anymore, well, this is pretty indicative of you bending the rules to take your real main out and you will probably be removed. I'm hoping you've come here because you're sick of the drama other guilds have given you and are looking for a stable, permanent home.

Recruitment:

We are now recruiting through applications on the website only.  Alts are always welcome here as I would rather them be here than in someone else's guild. If you do bring an alt into the guild, your main will always take priority unless otherwise discussed with an officer. Remember: We recruited your main not your alt. As our ranks swell we may have to ask people with more than one alt in the guild to pull all but the favorite alt out of the guild.
New recruits will start at the rank Newcomer and work to achieve the rank Clansman. You will only be eligible for this rank after 14 days. 3. If you are a new recruit and have any questions regarding guild policy or your role in the guild, ask an officer or the guild master

You must agree to all points outlined in this charter if you are to apply to join the guild. Your being recruited will entail that you have read and agreed with this charter. Telling an officer after you screwed up that you didn't know is no excuse as these rules should cover just about everything.

Guild Activities:

Events-
All members are free to create, manage, and participate in guild activities. Activities are always fun and help to break up the hectic raiding life. The more bizarre the event, the more fun it will be.

PVP-
-Guild pvp teams are always on the go, feel free to start your own group or join one with space.
-Dont afk where possible
-Obey the general rules as you will represent the guild in pvp. we support the rules laid out by Blizzard if you are caught using exploits of any kind you will be immediately removed from the guild.

Warnings:

A player may have a maximum of 2 warnings before being removed from the guild
If you receive a warning you will be demoted to the Dog House for for an amount of time to be decided by the officer who demoted you. During this time you will not be able to participate in guild chat. These warnings can be issued in cases where:
- Any of these rules are broken
- Conduct is not upheld
- General inactivity without notifying a Officer that you will be inactive for a set amount of time.
- Ignoring Officers and/or class leaders
A warning can only be issued by a officer

Dismissal:

If after receiving 2 warnings a player continues to break the rules they will be removed from the guild without warning. However, certain situations will result in immediate removal without warning.

These circumstances include:
-"Ninja"ing
-Your recruited guild character applying to join another guild (either ingame or on the forums)
-Allowing another player to play your character in a raid
-Ignoring Officers and/or class leaders

-Players that are kicked from the guild for any reason will not be welcome back.
-Players that leave without any notice or explanation
may have a chance at returning though odds in that will be slim.
-Players that leave on good terms have a second chance, however, this is discretionary and totally upon the class officers feelings towards that player.
